Description
This project is a recreation of the dungeon portion of the classic pixel-based NES game The Legend of Zelda (1986) , enhanced with additional rooms and a new player skill feature: the Shadow Master.
Development Focus
Designed and implemented the dungeon room transition system with smooth player and camera movement across connected rooms. Developed the Shadow Master player skill and designed new dungeon rooms—including lava, water, and obstacle-based challenges—to showcase its mechanics and combat interactions.
Built the enemy system and control logic, implementing AI behaviors, movement patterns, attack rules, and state transitions for dungeon monsters, including the classic Wallmaster enemy. Scripted and designed specialized rooms such as the Bow Room, Old Man Room, and Shadow Master Room, and implemented multiple weapons (sword, sword beam, and bow) alongside key–lock door mechanics to deliver a cohesive and faithful dungeon-crawling experience.
Technology Used
Unity (C#), 2D pixel art assets (open source), soundtrack generated by diffusion model, and custom scripts for dungeon mechanics and AI.
